a visit from family

Esther and I are always so happy when our family comes to visit. They are always bringing us treats and goodies- soo sweet! This past week, Pravin's Aunt Leela came too and it was so good to see her! And she got to meet Esther for the first time so that was special.  Here are some pictures from their last visit:

come again soon!!! we love y'all!

oh glorious day

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose, over death He had conquered
Now He's ascended, my Lord evermore.

Death could not hold Him
The grave could not keep Him from
rising again

Living He loved me, dying He saved me
And buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified freely forever
One day He's coming, oh, glorious day.

We had a wonderful Easter day. It started pretty early for me. I woke up at 4:30am and met up with a couple hundred people from Second Baptist church to do the resurrection dance. A couple weeks ago, over 2,000 people joined together and "danced their shoes off" from Second. The purpose of the dance was to share the gospel but also to donate shoes to people in need. You can watch the dance here:

Fox News saw this video and called Second last night to see if we could perform it live on their morning show. So, we did! All 2,000 people couldn't make it at such late notice but we had a good group out there. What an awesome way to start Easter day- dancing for a resurrected Savior!

We had lunch at gramma and papa's house and Esther had her first Easter basket! Kathryn and I showed up to lunch wearing the exact same dress. Great minds think alike!

uh-oh!

oops!

Esther had her hands folded like this all day. She knew she was pretty in her Easter dress.

her hands =)

We ended the day with a little evening swim and leftovers at gramma and papa's. We missed the McConnell's and Logan. See you both very soon!

thank you for the cross, Lord.

One day they led Him up Calvary's mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He.

Living He loved me, dying He saved me
And buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified freely forever
One day He's coming, oh, glorious day.

easter bunny

On Tuesday, Esther and I met up with some of my friends from church at discovery green to see the easter bunny. It was really for older kids but we still had a great time! They had an egg hunt, an easter story and pictures with the easter bunny. It was so crowded and hard to get pictures cause everyone wanted to be next in line so my pictures didn't really turn but oh well. Discovery green is a great park in downtown Houston. They have so many events for toddlers and families. Check out their website--pretty neat!

cereal

The other night we decided to give Esther some rice cereal. She had fun but was not interested in eating at all (probably because that stuff has NO taste). Maybe I made the cereal to thin? Who knows but we will try again in a few weeks and this time with some bananas!!

happy birthday to me

On Thursday, March 31st we celebrated my birthday. I know I am WAY behind on updating my blog but I wanted to put these pictures on here because it was a pretty little dinner that I always want to remember. Thank you to my wonderful mother for throwing this together, she always does the best job! And thank you to Kathryn for the delicious birthday cake! And to Chaiss and Kevin for coming home from Scotland just in time =). It wouldn't have been the same without you guys! Obviously it was my first birthday as a mom and it was a wonderful day. Wouldn't have been the same without my sweet Esther.
