39 weeks

Today I had my 39 week check up and everything looked great. The doctor said the baby's head is down and in place. yay! If I do not go into labor on my own, then I will be induced on November 1st. I know the Lord has this little girls birth date already planned so I am trusting in Him and trying my best to wait patiently. This pregnancy has been amazing. I love being pregnant. I love feeling her inside me and I love knowing that God made her special for me and prav and I can't wait to meet her. Eeee! A lot of people have asked me today "when are you due?" and I can say "Monday!" instead of saying 3 weeks or 2 weeks so that has been so much fun! I get all kind of reactions- "you look like your having twins! are you sure there's just one in there?" um yeah I am pretty sure there is just one but thank you. another reactions has been "monday?! i thought you had another month for sure!". these are the comments I like to hear.

After my doctor appointment, I treated myself to a prenatal massage and it felt soo good. I told my therapist to "go ahead and start my labor if you can", but I don't think she took me serious because she just laughed. bo k!

The nursery is almost done. My mom came over yesterday and it is 95% complete! I will post pictures asap! Ivy- if you say it is okay then we are going to put Georgia in the nursery so we can look at her everyday and think of you.

Happy 100th Birthday, Gran!

On Friday, October 15th, we celebrated Gran's 100 birthday. Her birthday is really on the 14th but she liked the way friday evening sounded and wanted to celebrate on that day. So we did and we had a wonderful time. The colors were black and white with splashes of red and green- her favorite colors. When guests walked in the door the men were greeted with a boutonniere and the women with a wrist corsage.

The menu was classic and elegant and the food was delicious, of course! Thank you Elizabeth Swift+Co for another amazing meal.

first course:
Roasted Butternut Squash Soup
with green onions and chopped walnuts

second course:
bleu-berry salad
tender spinach leaves, blueberries, red onion, bleu cheese and cayenne pecans tossed with a blueberry vinaigrette

third course:
tenderloin of beef
with bearnaise and horseradish sauces

tricolor potatoes au gratin
yukon gold, sweet and russet potatoes in this french classic

grilled asparagus
homemade yeast rolls
butter puffs

Dessert:
Classic vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream frosting

After dinner, we gathered in the living room for entertainment by Barbara Jennings. She sang old broadway songs and love songs from the 20's. She probably had fifteen different hats that she put on according to what song she was singing. Most of the group did not know the songs, but Gran loved hearing the songs she grew up with.

The party favors were individual wrapped red and white macaroons along with a mini bumper sticker. The bumper stickers were a great idea and hopefully everyone will put it on their car in honor of Gran and this huge celebration! Not many people get to turn 100 so let's celebrate!

This was another great party that my mom did a wonderful job putting together. How many parties can one woman plan? She definitely has a talent for planning and hosting. Gran is such a special person and she deserved every minute of this party! Happy Birthday, Gran!

Chaiss- unfortunately I did not get any pictures of the food. sorry. also, it took me forever to do this blog entry and when i pushed publish everything went everywhere and that is why my spacing is retarded. i do not know what i am doing and when you get home you can teach me what to do. i just wanted you to be able to see a little bit of the party so here ya go!
